Last week, LEAP students Hana and Dylan visited Adastral Park, home to BT’s innovation labs and a range of high-tech telecommunication and technology companies.
Hana studies Engineering at Pembroke and is particularly interested in robotics. BT put together a bespoke itinerary for her which included tours of their drones and robotics labs and the innovation showcase of leading edge technologies in AR, robotics and essentially all things that are enabled by the communications network.
“It was eye opening to see what kind of technologies are being developed in industry / “the real world”! I was particularly intrigued by the augmented reality work.”
Dylan studies Mathematics and is particularly interested in quantum computing. At Adastral Park, he really enjoyed seeing how quantum research can be applied in different ways - from theory to application.
“I got insight on how quantum research in industry was conducted and how varied that research can be. I look forward to staying in touch with BT Labs and hearing more about their research in the future.”
A huge thank you to BT for hosting Hana and Dylan!
